If we think of the word Menorca, the first thing that comes to mind is probably an image of turquoise water of its coves and beaches. And it is that, if there is something that characterizes the Balearic archipelago, this is its enormous natural wealth and its dreamlike landscapes.
There are many beaches and coves that we can find in Menorca and which we can enjoy at any time of the year. What is no longer so simple is to find coves with little traffic and that allow us to completely escape from stress and worries.
So that you can fully enjoy your stay in Menorca, we present some of the most beautiful hidden coves in Menorca.
Hidden coves and beaches of Menorca
- Binidali cove. Located in Sant Climent, in the south of the island, this small beach is surrounded by a forest and cliffs. Its fine white sand is perfect for lying down and enjoying a good book, as well as putting on some goggles and diving in its crystal-clear waters. You can access this beach looking for the Binidali neighbourhood, and it is located right next to the car park.
- Pilar Cove. Although it may seem hard to believe, its intense reddish colour reminds us of the volcanic beaches of Canary Islands. This beach, not very crowded and in the north of the island, forms an impressive contrast of colours before the eyes. You just have to keep in mind that during windy days it has a lot of waves. You can get to this beach by following Camí del Pilar at kilometre 34 of the main road, until you reach the car park. Once the vehicle is parked, you have to walk 2 km to the beach.
- Beach of the Bots. Near Ciutadella, just 10 km away, is this impressive virgin cove with fine white sand. Surrounded by vegetation, you only have to walk 1 km from Algaiarens cove car park to access it.
- Es Taialer cove. Also near Ciutadella, in the south, we find this virgin cove with fine white sand with a strong turquoise colour. You can get to this point, both from Cala Turqueta and from Son Saura, in about fifteen minutes on foot. Its landscape is one of the most beautiful on the island.
- Trebalúger cove. Finally, this cove in the south of the island is framed by pine trees and cliffs that make up a unique landscape. It is accessed by leaving Mitjana cove, and turning to the left. You have to walk 40 minutes, although the route is flat and shaded thanks to the pine trees that protect you from the sun. The ride is well worth it!
